from around the world and we offer several different wildlife Photography
Clinics and workshops during the summer at different times. from
3 day to 10 day advanced clinics in multiple locations. We
invite you to come join us on these one of a kind trips. No
cookie cutter trips here only top remote Alaska wildlife locations.

Hyde, on one of our Alaska Photography Workshops. Alaska Adventures Lodge has guided bear
viewers and wildlife photographers for years and is exited to team up with
professional photographer John Hyde. These photography workshops will appeal to
inspired amateurs as well as professionals who wish to photograph Alaska’s wild
brown bears in their natural habitat. The 2009 Alaska Brown bear photography
workshops are committed to providing and educating photographers who wish to
explore both the technical and artistic concepts of wildlife photography while
working under comfortable conditions in the Alaskan wilderness. In Addition to
acquiring exiting, dramatic and evocative images of our primary subject, the
Alaskan Brown bear, digital workflow and processing will be discussed as well.
With a true reverence towards nature, our workshops are committed to not
interrupting and disrupting the natural balance and order of every day life for
the creatures we'll seek to photograph. Fueled by inspiration, every single day
on the river will be a new and eye opening adventure. Timed with the enormous
salmon runs of the Bristol Bay region, Alaska Adventures
Katmai Wildlife Cruise provides the
mobility and accommodations in prime bear viewing locations. John Hyde who has
photographed professionally in Alaska for almost 30 years will engage your
imagination, rekindling a passion for your photography and in turn helping you
build a breathtaking visual diary of self-expression. These workshops hearten
photographers to create work that truly “BEARS” their signature and encourages
group members to make images that flow from their hearts & souls, as well as
their eyes.
Location: Katmai National Park aboard the "Bear
Necessity" on Naknek lake Our 80 ft Stardust cruiser will be the mothership for
all activities with a safari style wilderness campe
for all the sleeping accommodations'. We will providing participants with
excellent opportunities to observe and photograph brown bears in various
locations along the rivers and lake shores of Katmai National Park and Preserve.
Accommodations:
The Safari style Camp will be mobile as to offer our guests
many options and the most diverse Photography
o[[urtuinities in all of Katmai while utilizing our
mother ship for hot showers, flush toilets,
and all meals and Photo work shops
and computer work. accommodations will provide everything
required for our photographic and physical requirements, including access to
electric outlets 16 hours a day. Remote camps will not include access to
electricity while sleeping.
Equipment:
All photographic equipment, including battery power supplies, chargers,
storage media and film will be the responsibility of each participant.
Tripods and at least one telephoto lens between 300 and 600 mm is
recommended in addition to whatever other equipment is desired.
Laptops are recommended for those working with digital capture.
Clothing capable of withstanding the rigors of the Alaskan wilderness
are recommended for your comfort and safety.
